What started as a simple idea, driven by a genuine passion, has grown into a mission: to help students recognise the importance of learning a second or third language in today’s competitive job market. This vision aims to increase the number of students choosing languages as a subject during options time across the UK.
With a foundation built on quality and integrity, our work is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence in everything we do.
Frequently asked questions
Having successfully delivered over 500 MFL Career Talks, we’ve noticed some questions come up time and time again. Below, you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked ones.
What is the content of the talk?
Most students today dont fully understand the value of a second language in today's jobs market.
The talk focuses on how a language skill, even if you are not fluent, makes you standout from other job candidates increasing the chances of being successful. It also focusses upon the rags to riches story of our CEO because of his language skills
How long does the talk last?
The talk typically runs for 40–45 minutes, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session to address audience questions.
Ensuring students are seated and ready can often take longer than expected, cutting into valuable speaking time and diminishing the overall impact of the session. To avoid this, please allocate ample time for preparation beforehand.
What technology does the school need to provide?
This process is straightforward and hassle-free. The presentation includes a PowerPoint slideshow accompanied by a speaker. All the school needs to provide is access to a projector. A standard PC or laptop will work perfectly, as we can easily run the presentation using a USB drive.
Alternatively, speakers have the option to use their own laptops by easily connecting to your projector with an HDMI cable.
Can you run multiple talks to different groups on the same day?
Yes, this is quite common but needs to be discussed with the speaker prior to the talk. So please contact us on info@MFLInsights. Additionally, we encourage clients to provide as much detail as possible about the specific requirements for their event. This includes the audience profile, key topics of interest, and any particular goals for the talk. By offering this information upfront, we can ensure the speaker tailors their content to deliver maximum value and relevance to your audience. Clear communication helps create a seamless experience for all involved, so don't hesitate to reach out with your unique needs.
Is the talk for individual classes or an entire year group?
Usually the talks are delivered to entire year groups, but we can also accommodate individual classes by prior arrangement. Additionally, we offer tailored workshops that focus on specific topics or themes, allowing educators to address particular learning objectives or interests. These workshops are designed to be interactive and engaging, ensuring students gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter while fostering creativity and critical thinking skills.
What is your GDPR & photography policy?
GDPR is such a hot topic in today's modern world, and quite rightly so. Therefore it is company policy that we do not take any photographs or videos whilst on site, this keeps things very simple.
We don’t mind if the school themselves wish to take photographs, which of course would be the responsibility of the school, and we may occasionally ask permission to use these photos in our own social media and promotional activities. In addition to photography, we also encourage schools to share feedback and testimonials from their experiences with us. Positive feedback not only helps us improve but also allows us to showcase the incredible moments created during our programs. With the school’s permission, these testimonials can be featured on our website and promotional materials, helping to inspire others to join in on similar experiences.
Please note that we do not allowing filming of the talk for copyright reasons
